What boss were you guys having problems with? I don't remember any of them but the first one being a PITA. And he was only hard because I hadn't upgraded my assault rifle yet.

    Weird...

Maybe the fully upgraded assault rifle is better than the heavy rifle?

I remember him stepping off the pedestal right onto a EMP mine I had dropped and then melting to a blast from my assault rifle. I also had the aug that stops EMP from affecting my augs, that probably also made a huge difference.

I know what it was, you didn't get the chip "upgrade" that corrupted your systems.

What made this so hard was that if you had the chip, none of the augs worked, including armor, meaning one shot by him and you're dead. Plus you can't see because of the corruption to the system.

I thought this was superb, really enjoyed the presentation, atmosphere and audio with non-lethal gameplay working well and multiple routes to objectives with lots to explore.

The story lets the game down considerably although it looks like it was seriously cut down based on the trailers which is a shame as it's starts off with a lot of promise and quickly fizzles out. The broken animation during conversations is a bit irritating although the boss fights were the worst part which I see the developers apologised for last week. It didn't make much sense encouraging people to go for stealth then dumping you in a situation where you had to use raw firepower particularly if you've been investing your points in hacking and stealth rather then combat.

Interesting. They apologised for the boss fights? I'd love to read that, do you have a link? I know they outsourced the boss fights to a third-party developer. I wasn't as annoyed by them as most people although they were tedious and, as you say, contradicted the prevailing gameplay ethos. They were very beautifully designed but repetitive and teeth-grinding to play.

I loved this game but believe that it's essentially a very superior stealth shooter. The choices you are given, that flow from which powers/kit you buy, merely influence tactics (i.e. "can I sneak around this enemy, or must I blast him head-on?") rather than story. In this respect, I feel the much-vaunted "choices-driven" style of gameplay to have been hype, but it did not interfere with my enjoyment of the game.

    Sure, this is it here:

    http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/03/07/de...ame=0&ns_fee=0

“We didn’t know what they were for. We saw them as a way to break the tension,” admitted the dev. But the fights weren’t designed until well into the game development and the team were pressed for time. “We figured by putting in enough ammo in the room, we would be fine and could move on… next time we’ll think about them more. They were a big part of the game and we should have put more effort into them. We are truly sorry about that.”

Agreed although I'm not sure if it was so much hype but just more simply they were aiming too high as the game overall seems to be quite a bit less than originally intended. I did wonder if some of the ending text is based on your actions at all as Adam mentions how close had come to abusing his power but managed to resist, if you've had a more brutal play through does he say something different?

Where was that from? I checked the DLC on Steam but it's currently £9 so thought I'd way for the next Steam sale.

    Gamers gate

They had all deus ex games and content for 75% off a week and half ago.

for the boss that scrambles your vision you can do a nonlethal takedown on him whenever he climbs over a wall. it's a bit cheap but it makes the battle last 30 seconds

Thanks, will keep an eye on Gamersgate.

I made a bit of an error in that section
    Spoiler

I think the cinematic extended trailer is just great but I've been puzzled why his wrist closes as he moves it down to pick up the glass, a section slides down then clips into place. I would assume it's the section that allows the blade to be extended and retracted but I can't see why it's in the trailer:
