I'll look into it. It seems that every time they radically change something in the game, the map software breaks until they catch up. I'll see about getting it updated later tonight when I'm home from work. If I had to guess, it's because of the map format change to the new Anvil format.

Will the map be working again sometime? I just like to see what I've been building from a distance.

    Sorry, forgot about this. d'oh!

I'll try and get it done shortly.

    *Edit: rendering now.
*Edit: Render is done, but north is in the wrong direction. I'll try and fix it later tonight when I get back home.

not a big deal, I just like looking and sometimes base my next project on what I see on the map. Thanks

Monroeski's skull mountain looks great rendered in this direction. I'd vote to keep it this way for awhile.

Yeah, after looking at it more, I think this might be the "right" direction to view it from. The words are readable, monroeski's skull mountain is awesome, the base in the wilderness I hadn't even seen is intricately visible. lol

This new version of overviewer can support multilple renders, including a render of the Nether. I might try and do that later. Would be cool to see what we've explored down there.

*Edit: I apparently didn't render any signs into the map. I'll try and fix that as well.

    Now with added realism!

    - Cats will now sit on chests and beds, preventing players from using them.

Minecraft for 360 is out and it demolished day one sales records for an XBLA game. The game started to turn a profit within the first hour on sale...

I found a nice mod called Optifine. It adds a ton of graphical features such as mipmapping, AF, AA, and tons of tweaks. The game looks so much better with the mod and runs a lot smoother with far distances on. I started playing again and am enjoying all the new stuff they added over the last year.

Can't really see the game working as well on the 360 although I probably wouldn't buy it anyway as I don't buy from companies who have screwed me over in the past and believe it's 4J that developed the game (I worked for their pre-phoenix company)

I spent a while with a mod called millonare or similar which added a great town building element where villagers would request certain materials to build new houses and with new houses would come new items such as bars, food etc. There were a lot of good ideas which made the official town implementation look pretty pathetic but it was rough around the edges and I eventually got bored of it.

Was thinking of having a look again to see what's changed in the game but not sure I have the patience at the moment to build, maybe time to find a server to join.

Dear god, I just got acquainted with the redstone dust, torches, and repeaters. There went 8 hours... I made an xor logic circuit connected to two switches to open a set of piston doors. I strategically ran all the logic under the gate door into a separate room under my caste. The room is full of lights and relays that go crazy when I open the doors. Too cool haha. This is in survival mode. A creeper found his way into the room. I about crapped my pants. I gingerly led him out and he blew up right next to my chests, so I spent the next 30 minutes organizing my stuff again...

I played the demo for the 360 version and I think it feels rather clunky. You're missing that quick precision a mouse can offer and as a result, building things and even mining just feels slow. The game has 5.1 Surround Sound though, and when a creeper snuck up behind me and I actually heard it behind me I nearly jumped out of my skin. (Disclaimer: My PC doesn't have a 5.1 setup but my TV does)

On PC I discovered a mod called Industrial Craft which adds SO MUCH to the game that it basically feels like a different game. Kinda crazy. I don't know if I actually like it, but it's cool. XD

Wow, that is quite a mod. I was hoping there was some sort of machinary that could mine. I thought they would have added that to the game and then require the player to feed the machine by finding energy cells or something. I was surprised to find out that physically clicking blocks was still the only way at end game.
