Defiant Shark
That isn't really an explanation, the rest of the video matches up with his (and other characters) abilities so I'd hope there is a reason for initial part on his arm.
Deus Ex is 75% off today if anyone is fancying the DLC content.

I bought it all during the Christmas sale for cheap, and here's my thoughts:
1. Tactical Enhancement Pack just starts you off with a few extra weapons and money you'll find later in the game. Essentially charging you money for a cheat code.
2. Explosive Mission Pack is a touch better, in that it adds a mission. However, it was literally part of the original game that they cut out for the sole purpose of selling it back to you. The mission isn't worth playing, although it does help with the contiguity of the story (for obvious reasons).
3. The Missing Link is the only one that feels like an add on and not just part of the game taken out so it can be re-packaged and sold to you for more money. Even still, I found it to be boring as it feels like more of the same. Want another 5-10 hours of DX 3 gameplay with little-to-no additional story? Then you may want to get this one.
*** Minor Missing Link story spoilers ***
It takes place in the middle of the DX 3 story (about 3/4 of the way through the game). So you don't really advance anything as far as the original story goes, and the story for the add on is weak, imo. It *does* give you a possible minor peek into the story of a potential sequel.

I got the missing link DLC for free but I wouldn't suggest paying any money at all for it. If you want more human revolution gameplay go play through the game again with some artificial constriction, all-nonlethal or whatever.
By the way, there's an incredibly easy way to cheese yourself a bunch of money early on using the arms dealers. When you knock out a bunch of enemies, take the guns from the first one, sell them, then take the guns from the second one, sell them, and so on. Usually the extra guns would be "turned into" ammo, this way you get so sell each of them as a gun. This helps with affording all the Praxis you can buy at the clinics early on, but later in the game money is completely useless anyway.
I think the worst thing I can say about HR is that if I had to choose a Deus Ex game to play through again right now, I would go with DE1 even though I've only finished HR once.

I wish I'd seen your post before buying the DLC but at least it wasn't expensive.

im enjoying it more on my ps3 than pc... the large plasma gives it a more cinematic feel and the graphics were not that stellar to begin with so that advantage is lost on the PC... also the gameplay is not a twitch shooter so once again the gamepad works great

Just started playing this after getting it for Christmas and having it sit unopened on my shelf for 3 months.
I was late to the Deus Ex party, and never even got around to playing the first game until just a few years ago, despite owning the GotY edition.
Only 1 mission in, but so far I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

They aren't great that's for sure, I wouldn't say horrible though. I believe there are gfx mods if you are playing on PC.

i believe it uses the recent tomb raider engine (anniversary, underworld, etc).. so technically it is not very advanced but the art direction and attention to detail makes up for it IMHO
you have games like crysis2 and bf3 which are technically advanced but feel very stale to me (dont get me wrong, BF3 multiplayer is probably the game i play the most right now, but im talking solely graphics)

They are.
Ok, not "horrible", but the whole time I can't help but feeling like I'm playing SWAT 4. From 2004. It really reminds graphically of that.
That said, I could care less. Like someone before said, the art direction is what carries the game. Plus, it's an RPG mostly, so graphics aren't a big deal.
Hell, the original is still easy to get into and great fun over a decade later!

Seriously? Oh man, I thought there was something wrong with my game when I loaded it up.
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

And hence the reason I said what I did. I honestly thought there was something wrong with me or my computer. Well I must look past it and enjoy.

I'm about 9 hours in now (only on like the second or third 'main' mission , the rest side missions), and I'm really starting to get into it. It takes a few hours I think, but the story is really starting to grab me, and the actual amount of freedom and something FINALLY resembling a competent RPG model, and not some dumbed down, hand-holding crap is refreshing and exciting.
Can't wait to play more.
