    I went the Amazon route since the end result will be the same as preordering in a store (I'll get it after work release day) but with the advantage of 1. never having to go by a store, and 2. saving a few bucks since release day shipping is $1 while tax would be close to $5.

    Does anyone know if the Open Beta will "work" and I just have to enter the new retail serial #? I'm guessing my Newegg pre-order won't be here on the 15th...

    I pre-ordered on blizzard's site downloaded game cilent, my girlfriend is interested in the game as well. I will try and test it out launch day. But I expect bugs.

    Did newegg send you a product key ahead of the boxed product? If you have the product key, you can enter it on Blizzard's account management and download the game.

    It's not an open Beta. It was open for one weekend, which was really a stress test. The Beta is invite only.

    Even the invite-only beta isn't running right now. I believe it was shut down right after the public weekend last month.
