Pass on this. At first I wasn't impressed with the beta, then I liked it, then I didn't like it. After not playing for a few weeks, I don't miss it, nor do I really even want it.
Off topic......In fact, I'm getting rid of my desktop altogether. Just going with a couple of laptops - one for my son and his homework needs and the other for Quicken, word processing, and internet. I'm done with PC gaming. Will be turning my PC desk into a desk for my son and I to use for building model cars and planes. I used to do it a long time ago and would like to get back into it and he's asking for a new hobby besides video games and he would like to try models. Really looking forward to that.

If he bought a physical copy I don't think they'd send him a key. That would involve them opening the specific box that's shipping to him. Not going to happen.

Excited for Tuesday. Picking up some Rogue Chocolate Stout and playing Diablo III all day. Epic fun times. Also have an Abita Party Pack sitting in my fridge, but I think most of it will be gone by Sunday.

I got Thursday off, and looking forward to it. I'm not going move my date forward for an all day play session cause I can't help but think that there will be bugs and release day issues.

Any of you beta testers know if the game will run on XP with service pack 2? Long story but something on my computer does not like Service Pack 3, I spent three days trying to install it a couple of years ago and it always crashed my system. I may have to finally pick up Win7.

Demetrius I of Macedon was offended when the Spartans sent his court a single envoy, and exclaimed angrily, "What! Have the Lacedaemonians sent no more than one ambassador?" The Spartan responded, "Aye, one ambassador to one king."

A cursory search comes up that SP2 doesnt seem to play nice with the Beta. I would think that as long as you have the latest DX update it should be fine, but what do I know.

I'll pass. I was a huge Diablo 2 player, invested a ton of time into it, but the beta left me completely unimpressed. My main problem is the fact that you cant assign your stats points, and they are automatically assigned when you level. Boring, and seems to be directed 100% towards casual players. Not that Diablo was ever a thinking man's game, but they took out one of the best features (creating different builds). Yes, I know there is a rune system, but without having the ability to assign stat points, the fun of creating different builds is taken out.
Strongly dissapointed by Blizzard's decision to simplify the game and aim the game 100% towards casual players. Might as well have been a Nexon facebook game instead...

They really didn't simplify the game. IMO, D3 is more complex than D2. Check out the D3 site and read about the new stat/skill/rune spec system. It's more about items than just putting points into a single stat.
There are actually lot more possible builds in D3 than there were in D2. You can spec in your starting skills and actually create an awesome build.
It's actually kind of confusing the way it's laid out though. There is no real way to do a "talent calculator" that accurately reflects your build, since so much of the efficiency of that build is dependent on the item set you might be using.

But items alredy affected your stats in the original D2 as well. This just seems like an overly simplified move. Of course there's going to be more options, because of a lot of different items, but at its core, youre left with a character you cant customize (outside of different items/runes). Meh. Makes business sense though, casual games are a lot bigger market than hardcore games.

Awesome.
I agree with Ima, the game looks more complex than Diablo 2 was. Losing the ability to manually place stat points didn't really simplify anything.
