Gaming Laptop, Around $1000, Any suggestions?

Thinking about ditching the MBP since it is still worth a decent chunk of change and I kind of want something I can game on.

I am thinking the HP DV6T with the GT 650M might be the way to go since you can get it with a matte screen which I see as a huge plus. Just wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone had any suggestions before I start digging in. Your thoughts?

I have had good experiences with asus laptops. Not sure what they are offering these days when it coming to gaming laptops.

Asus' G series should be good... I've heard bad things about HP and the dual graphics switching not working very well... and lack of support

I myself have a Lenovo Y570 w/ GT 555M and i5 processor and only got to play League of Legends but it has been fine.

My brother has a slightly older HP DV6T and he hasn't had any issues. He didn't realize the graphics switching didn't happen automatically so he was playing SWTOR for a couple days on the intel graphics.

The Lenovo Y570 seems like a pretty legit option, I would probably have an overall better experience trying to run stuff at the native 1366x768 on that with the 555M compared with trying to do 1080P with the 650M.

That is the trick right there. find one with a lower native resolution. Your gaming experience will be so much better. I have a Asus G61 (1366*768). gts 360m.

It will play most games just fine.

On my Lenovo, it auto detects when a game plays and kicks in GT 555M automatically...
