I must suck a lot then, because I was getting destroyed as a 48 DH in Act III Nightmare last night.

I think what I need is resist gear. I just keep getting destroyed by the lobbed fireballs.

Might want to check decent builds on the D3 class forums, if you want to. Maybe the skills you're using don't compliment each other.

Or post it here, and see what people say.

As a 51 DH with some AH gear, I blew through Nightmare pretty easily except for Diablo himself. I only fought him once last night when I got there but died in Phase 2. I need to tweak my methods a bit I think.

Diablo is not a cakewalk in any difficulty, in Hell you basically have to play a perfect run or you will die, alot! Took me ~18 tries on hell.

I switch it up constantly based on the enemies. I really don't see how people can play this game with a specific build. Maybe other classes are different, but with DH it totally depends on the number of enemies, if i can train them into a single line, and if I'm in a group.

This build works for everything but bosses for me.
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...TXV!bTe!aabZZb

All I do is switch to stuns for bosses, basically switch grenades and Impale to stun.

I had SteadyAim instead of SharpShooter until 50. Honestly this build feels way OP. You just shotgun blast stuff to the ground, use nades and bat to refill hatred, and then Impale single targets for max DPS.

This worked great all the way through nightmare. I really never had to change it at all except for stuns on bosses.

When ever I gain a new skill or rune I immediately select them to try them out. 5 min later, I nearly always default back to my original load out of explosion range bolas, double chakrams, extended slow mines, stun blackflip, and stun impale.

I honestly try to experiment but I have yet to find anything as effective with the load out I'm already happy with. I still try though, on the off chances that the new rune or skill might help.

    My current build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...YdZW!aY!baaZaa

I crowd control by slowing things down and using bolas to blow up groups of them. I can shoot from afar with guided shot and also backflip out of the way to keep ranged. Stunned impale is perfect for larger Boss mobs which still get stunned.

If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

I know everyone says to use crippleing wave for monk but I have had the best success with the basic fists of thunder and regenerating gear since it attacks so fast... I basically heal through brute force

Probably going to switch the Mantra of Healing's rune to the new thing that just went in last night.

I haven't been reading what other people are saying about builds, but I can say that I like Crippling Wave because of the awesome AoE effectiveness.

I fail at killing Diablo on Nightmare. I can't even get past phase 2. I suck.

Nevermind. Quick trip to the AH with a focus on vitality and health regen and I beat him first time after that. Actually quite easy with the right gear. I just needed more of a buffer from getting tapped periodically.

I should have been more specific on the context - I did mean in a party. I haven't soloed the game with any character except wizard.

I wouldn't know anything about DH solo - mine is 45, but played exclusively in parties.

No, I suck! I can't even kill Diablo in Normal solo... I ended up going back a bit to beginning of Act IV just so I could level up... at what levels did you guys finish Normal?

My monk was Lvl. 31 when I encountered Diablo...
