    BLACKWELL BUNDLE
    BOTANICULA
    DARWINIA
    DEFCON

how does machinarium: collectors edition work on gog? since the whole point of that is the artwork/poster/etc... do you just get a PDF scan of them and mp3s for the soundtrack?

I would guess something like that as that's how it is for other games and almost every game they sell has extras. Maybe JPGs or BMPs for the art instead of PDFs.

Super late to posting this but it will still be going on until mid day Monday. Some really great stuff here if you don't already own a bunch of it.

bought sim city2000 se (since even though i already have the CD from way back... it wont install onto win7)

however, its just the DOS version packaged into dosbox and not the native win95 version i was expecting so im a bit disappointed... it looks horrible at 640x480

I can try to put together a list of specifics or recommendations later but for now just know that GOG just started their Summer Sale yesterday and practically everything in the store is 50% or more off, not counting their newer releases. They also have daily deals going; yesterday was the whole D&D collection, which is a great sale but I didn't rush to mention it because I think everybody here that is interested in stuff like the Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights games likely already owns either the discs or the GOG copies from one of their previous sales.

I'm sure they planned on doing the Summer Sale around this time all along but they're jumping on the back of the #NoDRM bandwagon that's been jumpstarted by all the new console talk and I very much support them for doing so. They've been ringing that anti-DRM bell for 5 or 6 years now and I've double dipped on more than one game that I already owned on Steam because I love having a copy that I know I can use forever.

Nice. Definitely some games I'd like to pick up. Thanks for the heads up. I've never used GOG before, do you simply download the game and play, no activation or anything? I'm guessing you keep a backup on your NAS with all your gog games?

No activation is required. You set up an account and when you purchase a game you downloaded the executable file and your done. you can redownload any of the games you purchased from your gig account any time.

i picked up strike suit zero for $5: http://www.gog.com/gamecard/strike_suit_zero

it has pretty decent reviews but what sold me is that they are promising oculus rift support later this year and its probably the closest thing we are getting to EVR

Its so simple. I guess I should start checking GOG first before buying stuff on steam from now on. I didn't realize they had newer indie games too.
