Yeah, the Winter Steam sale is lacking this year if you've participated in recent sales. I guess I've bought everything that slightly interested me. Been looking at a particular subreddit for game deals, and I kind of agree with them that Amazon and GMG are giving Steam some competition. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die is 14.99 there, thinking about picking it up.

Just got Dark Souls for the PS3 for $12. Wish I had waited for the Pc version.

Must....resist. I sucked so bad at Demons's Souls. Is there any way to cheat in the PC one? After getting my *** handed to me (which it will undoubtedly do) I'd like to actually get to see the game (I know, I know. Defeats the purpose and all that. What can I say? I suck at these games).

I really don't see the point if you are going to cheat, the story is lacking in Dark Soul's so if you remove the challenge then you have nothing left. Though, the atmosphere is still present so that could be a selling point.

Would the atmosphere really be as effective without that constant sense of dread? The need to slowly and carefully advance, being ever-vigilant of potential doom?

Don't cheat, Dyne. The game is about the journey, not the story or the ending, and by stripping out the challenge you're rendering the game inert.

That all depends on how bad he sucks at them. LOL. There is the "How Bored You are Going to Get Playing the Same Darn Level for the Tenth Time/Reward" calculation to consider. For example I immediately get the gold cheats, if available, for any RPG I play.

Oh yeah, those Commando games. I slogged though the first two levels on the first game and then just checked out the graphics on the rest of the levels with a cheat. Are the following games a little more fast paced? I remember thinking they would have been perfect as Diablo style games set in WWII.

My wallet is crying in the corner, I will be joining it when my wife finds out how much I spent on games and the only excuse i have is "its the christmas steam sale!"

All I've picked up thus far is Half Minute Hero, Jet Set Radio, and Spirits. Will likely be grabbing Dark Souls from Amazon, though.

In the original I could make it to a spider boss but got my *** kicked about 25 times before I even hit it. Did I have fun? Sure, for a bit. Having to slog through the entire level time after time got to be a chore.
