[Insert witty title here]
The excitement I seem to detect mostly boils down to:
--the hardware seems genuinely powerful
--the architecture breaks from Sony's previous model, which should make ports and development much easier
--Major relief that the "nightmare scenarios" of used games being abolished and constant internet connections required at all times that everyone was fretting about did not come to pass, it seems.
..That's about all I took away. Everything else was...well...pretty standard, if not downright "meh".

I can agree to that.

Hardly. Rumors suggest that one core will be dedicated to the os and others to various other system level tasks like networking and the video buffering. I probably say the devs get 4-5 cores to work with.
PC: Corsair 550D

Intel 120GB SSD + 2TB Seagate | Seasonic 660 Plat

Currently playing: Civ 5
Last Game Beaten: Walking Dead

Even so that should be more powerful than what the PS3 has now.

What are the chances that MS uses low voltage Intel 8 Cores Xeon like cpu in their XBOX 720 ?
The 50 Watts 8 cores Xeon looks interesting
-
I heard that Sony will offer PS4 games with prices ranging from $0.99 to $60

If they want a PS4 like solution (everything on one die) they will have to get their GPUs in line first, gaming on a Intel GPU is painful to say the least.

This will be the first set of consoles I will not be trying to grab on release day. I just dont care anymore. Sad when I stood in line forever for a PS2 back in the day.

That's not a console that's a PC.

Console or PC the fastest GPU on an Intel CPU you can buy today is crap compared to what AMD can give you on CPU.
