    Saints Row 4

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=lz8EDvU7pJc

Any one else excited for this?

I never played SR1 or SR2, but i I spent a good 40+ hours on SR3 which felt like no time at all. Personally, I had a better time with SR3 then GTA4. Both are still awesome games but the wackyness of SR just really appeals to me.

I know im in the minority but I really didnt enjoy the humor in SR3.. it was just too "zany" for me so I couldnt enjoy the game. GTA4 was the completely opposite, I didnt enjoy it because it was trying to hard to be serious. I like a good balance of light humor and solid storytelling ie: San Andreas, Vice City, Sleeping Dogs...

I just played SR3 in December, and it was what I thought GTA 4 should have been.

Note sure if I'm quite ready to play another one soon, but it will be some time before it hits ~$10 on Steam, anyways

I always thought of the Saints Row series as an alternate reality GTA if they kept going in the direction Rockstar took with Vice City and San Andreas. That being said, Saints Row 4 looks like a new Crackdown game to me, not Saints Row.

This seems like is would be fun. I am unsure if there will be a game any time soon that I pay even close to full price for though...

Loved Saints Row 3 - but will wait on 4 until it's cheap.

I only pay full price for Total War games. (I want them to keep developing on the PC!)

I'm with you. I couldn't stand SR3. It was like watching a sitcom with a laugh track in the background trying to get jokes to land every two sentences. Way too much for me. I liked GTA4, but my issue with the game was the bad story progression which is why I never finished it. It was aimless. I would go 10 hours without hearing anything about the main storyline and the side stories hardly ever went anywhere. They fixed it with the expansions. I finished the biker one and enjoyed it much more than the proper game. Hopefully GTA5 brings with it better story telling and pacing.

Reviews are popping up and it looks to be even crazier then SR3. The game has become a superhero sandbox sim and it plays more like an updated Crackdown then GTA.

    Can't wait to play it!

I think I am going to wait for a couple patches to drop, both the Kotaku and RockPaperShotgun reviews stated having issues with bugs. Once them are ironed out i'm all over this game.

Agreed. However they do have review versions and the game doesn't drop for another week. I'd expect Violation to be working on a patch but Is till like to wait until the DLC drops and I can grab a single "Ultimate" pack.

From what I have read, SR4 is a superhero sandbox where you act out a comic fantasy in a world with a crazy amount of options and customization. There are a lot of throw backs to pop cultures sprinkled through the game. Kotaku should a brief clip going through 50 easter eggs in 5 min. The reviewer says its just a small taste of what the game has included.
