I lol'd when I read the press release:

Maxis and EA today announced that The Sims™ 4 is currently in development at The Sims Studio for release on PC and Mac in 2014. The Sims 4 celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience.
I've enjoyed the Sims games in the past even without purchasing any expansions.

I like how it is a "feature" now that you can play it offline. This is some madden circa 08ish mess.

I think I'll be skipping out on this one. With a brand new computer Sims 3 still crashes, so why bother with 4? Not a huge fan of the constant updates that send everything into a tantrum either. It would be cool if they could redeem themselves, but I'm thinking its going to be a waste of money for me...

Lol, they had to explicitly say offline in the buzz copy. How about they fix Sim City to allow off line? I may actually buy it then (with large cities as well.)

Never played a sims game, don't think I've missed very much tbh.

The Sims is basically and electronic form of playing with Barbies.
