Any interest in installing some crazy mod like Tekkit?

(I have never actually played with Tekkit, I just think it sounds cool)
I've never really played with any mods past a texture pack. But if that's what people want, then sure.

Man you guys work fast. I just logged in and you have already started a nice home base.

The best news about this update is that it seemed to fix my SocketException errors related to using a RealTek NIC that made the game unplayable.

I look forward to playing around with the new stuff that has come out in the last six months that I haven't played. See you guys online.

So I made portals at both the west and the north west villages. They both link to the same portal in the nether. Not sure how to fix that.

You need to manually build a second portal in the nether that is closer to the location the second portal in the main world.

I just read the first few pages of this thread and they are great. It is interesting looking back on how we first received the game and comparing that to how popular it has become, even industry changing.

I need to jump back in and see what's changed over the last year or so.

Every time you start a game the entire world is randomly generated based on certain natural laws which organically create natural wonders such as cave systems, waterfalls, mountains, forests, etc. You are then placed within this world and you must go around collecting resources so you can make a shelter before night falls because monsters come out. You then create items and customize your house while you wait out the night. Then during the day you try to expand your area with more houses near rarer resources. Eventually you build up your resources enough so you can craft weapons and armor which let you battle the monsters. its totally open world and it looks very interesting.

Check out this guy playing the game to get an overview:

The really cool part is that it is a single guy that made it and he is constantly updating it. You can play the trial version for free but to get the monsters and "career" mode you have to support him by paying 13 bucks for the alpha version. This will give you access to all future updates as well.

Now this is a super indie game.

I'll probably be buying it and checking it out tomorrow.

    Here's yo server dawgs:

    Apparently it wasn't good.

This game needs some kind of air vehicle (airplanes, flying horses, whatever). Horses sound great until you realize all of the technical problems, like riding through forests and having to avoid deep water, which pretty much describes 80% of the map (the other 20% being impassible mountains, of course).

And limited visibility combined with higher speeds combined with surface lava pools and randomly placed chasms is a recipe for disaster.

I'm still on my first, but there was a lava incident on the way home.

Let's just say I'm glad horses have a larger health bar than people do.
