this sound problem really needs to go away...windows xp

im still having that problem with my sound. i even got an audigy and it was working for like a day and then it was crackling again. so i returned it and tried going to windows 2k and i had the same thing. my sound skips really bad. like really bad. it crackles and pops whenever something is loading on the hd. i cant even play games its so unbarable. does anyone else have any ideas? ive already tried chaning the pci slot twice, ive tried all the windows updates, all the creative drivers, ive tried the 686 bug fix from via, i have the 4in1's installed. anything else i might need? or try?

i bet you have udma disabled
but i dont know how you can mannualy enable it on xp on win98se you just inserted some lines on some .inf file and it gived you a tremendous boost but dunno if that is your problem and how windows xp works since im not using it

Does your motherboard have onboard sound? And if so have you disabled it in the bios?
