Post Pencil trick did not work...

I tried closing all the L1 bridges using a 2h 0.3 mm lead. I was very careful not to overlap between bridges, so that's not the problem.

Anyways, I tried starting up my computer, and I just hear this infernal beeping, and nothing else happens.

When I erase the pencil markings everything works again.

What could I be doing wrong in unlocking my 900 Mhz T-Bird?

    Thanks for the help.

What kind of motherboard? If you unlock it, the board (if there's no support to change multys) will not know what on earth speed it is.

I have the same mobo and I was having problems with the pencil trick as well.

True story but I used a 0.5mm pencil when I got it to work. You need to run over it a few times and make sure that nothing is touching. If you are getting consistent beeps like I was afterwards check what the multiplier,FSB, and voltage are in the Bios when I set them to high that was when I got the beeping. Also you could use the fuzzy logic to five you an idea at what FSB you can run with out a lockup. Fuzzy logic will not change the multiplier tho.

    Hope that was some help.

Maybe with the .3 mm lead, it's not enough to connect them. Try .5mm instead

hey, i had the same problem and the same board as you. This problem happened to me when i was trying to overclock it quite high, then when i reboot i got the same problem. I think you should use a .5mm pencil.

Oh, and also erased the pencil markings and then it would boot back at my default duron 700.
