Anyone having trouble posting 1.2 TB on a 133 FSB?
I've been seeing reports around the net that some folks are having trouble with unlocked 1.2 TBirds posting on kt133a mobos as the mobos want to post with default multiplier (12X) at 133 which is too high for most of these chips. Can anyone conform this or not? Thanks.

All I've heard thus far is positive results with the 133mhz boards.

From what I'm reading, it doesn't seem like the problem is with the chip...its with the motherboard. The mobos are wanting to initially post at like ~1.6 GHz (12x133) and so folks are having problems with them. I'm just trying to confirm this as I am in the market for a new mobo/cpu. If this is a problem, it is something I want to steer clear of.....

You have to take the multiplyer and lower it in order to utilize the cpu running at 133MHz instead of 100MHz. If you have a 1.2G t-bird then you have to set the multiplyer at 9 in order for the processor to run at 1200MHz. This is not a bad thing, it will increase the t-birds performance signifacantly, and it is an overclockers dream.

I think maybe he understands that, he may be saying that the board wants to default to that so the board won't even post long enough to change the multiplier,
I would think that you would have to POST the board/chip at default, then go in on a reboot and change the multiplier down and FSB up.

Been gearing up for a new case mod overclocking adventure, it is going to be wild. Been working allot to cover the cost.
I am writing an article about it, it is going to be done with the Abit KT7a Raid board and the Athlon 1G. Man it will be one of a kind, going to try to get cpu down to at least -20C with pelts and pelt cooled water, with nothing outside the case except an extra 24V power supply to handle the 172 Watt pelt on the cpu.

Your probably right on that me misunderstanding, read it fast, you are correct in posting at default then rebooting except its not the fsb you change it is the cpu you change from 100MHz to 133MHz, then change the ram speed to 133MHz. if it boots good then start uping your fsb.

My new server case should be in next week so it will start in about ten days, picked up the motherboard today, am deciding on the ram now will order that this weekend. Here is a link to the case I am using, it is awsome, http://www.amtrade.com/computer/inte...r_cabinets.htm The ideas I have for it is going to be a one of as kind. I will post the link I am writing it for next week when I start.
Thanks for letting me know I was missed : )
Will be hanging around more often soon, just trying to wrap up loose ends.

Can't wait That's a monster case. Course you were missed, I was actually just thinking you'd be pretty useful with all these guys asking how to get just a few more mhz out of their FSB lately.

I might not have a 1.2 ghz cpu.
But my KT7a motherboard isnt giving me any stability @ 133/33 fsb.
All this 133 fsb support is hyped.
Though i must admit that im using win2k and it is not the most hardware friendly OS.
