    Post Low FPS in UT

When i play UT, I normally get about 50 FPS in 1028x768x32 mode on a map with 32 people. Sometimes that number can drop to 30 or 20. My specs are pretty good: An AMD 1.1Ghz t-bird, geforce2 gts, 128megs ram. Do you guys have any idea what is wrong here? This speed does not seem right.

Well I was just checking anandtech, and I found a review of the ASUS V7700 Deluxe GF2-32. The card got 50fps at 1024x768x32 in UT with Detonator3 6.18 drivers. This was on an Athlon 750.

So yes you should be getting higher fps. Are you using Det3 drivers?? Install the latest VIA 4in1 drivers. UT is very cpu dependent and does suck up a lot of resources so close all other programs while playing.

Set the minimum frame rate to 30 in the preferences menu in UT.

Let me know if that helped.

Well.. Let me tell you this. The models in Unreal Tournament are quite detailed. Lots of polygons, high resolution textures etc. If you see for example 8-10 players on the screen, it's not weird at all that your fps drops a bit. Have you tried setting textures to a lower option and see if this still occurs? By the way, it could be the RAM too. 128 MB is kinda little. Besides, RAM is so very cheap today, that you should go and buy some as soon as you can. 256 MB will do damn well, and you should notice a difference..

Is using the 7.52 (leaked) drivers a good idea? I am running DX8 and i hear the 7.x are optimized for it.
