mushkin rev2 or rev 3

hey guys I'm building a rig for a friend and was thinking about trying mushkin pc133, whats the diff with the rev2 and 3, I see the rev3 they gurantee 150 2-2-2, is there really that much more performance between them ?? thanks

Rev2 will likely hit 150, but it's guaranteed at 133. The difference will be what something guaranteed 150 will make it to.

right I see...so the guranteed 150 will maybe hit 160 2-2-2, they only have rev2 128 mb sticks, why not 256? but I guess that doesn't really matter...thanks vindir

They have to make the pcb boards specific for each ram type and size. The way they came up with Rev3 is pretty neat. They basically took a 256meg stick of Rev2 ram, and they removed all 128megs worth of chips from one side of the stick of Ram. And they found out that the doubled-sided 256meg pcb design was much faster when only using the 128megs.

I have a small review of the rev3. And I also talk about the rev2 if you look at my site below...

I like the rev2 over the re3 as long as the good chips are on them. They must say 7 at the end and not 7.5...the rest is at my site.
