What is Seti?

I constantly read about people running "seti" for x number of hours stable or at certain temps. Probably a dumb question, but what the hell is it and where can I get it?

It's software to suposibly help find aliens. We use it because it's CPU intense and it helps us in are quest for total stability after an overclock.

It's like a screen saver that takes yuor cpu down to it's knees, but you can still do some web browsing at the same time.

Its basically a number-crunching program, but what I seen is that it doesnt even increase my cpu temp more than a couple of C's.......hmm I also saw its on the lowest priority on the CPU when I open WinAccelerator

And while your cpu is down on its knees Seti make it beg for mercy. The cpu will be running at 100% load. Proves a system stable at that speed when you can run it without crashing. Crashes can be due to heat,memory problems, video chip problems or chipset problems.
