Post About the A7V standard.... And 133MHz fsb...

There is a setting for 133MHz fsb on this Mb... But will it work with a Athlon C?

Can't seem to get it to work with my 1GHz (100MHz) Athlon... My memory can handle it, but i doubt it would boot at 10x133= 1333MHz even at 1.85v...

    this won't post at 7.5x133=1000MHz.
I know why, but read this if you don't : http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1440&p=2

    Will me getting a 1333MHz (266MHz fsb)even work on the A7V? (NOT A7V133!)

If you have the original A7V, you can forget about the 133MHz FSB. This has nothing to do with the Anandtech article. The KT133 chipsets just won't do 133MHz FSB. Not one single board made it that high...not even the Abit.

With the original KT133 the highest FSB I have ever read about was 120MHz, but most everyone else topped out around 110MHz, and a select few made it to the 115MHz range, but not one ever made it to 133MHz.

There was another article on Anandtech a while back that explained why the KX/KT133 limits the FSB. Apparently, AMD pressured VIA to limit it in order to prevent FSB overclocking. By replacing the clock generator (for about $100), some extreme OCers have easily reached 155MHz FSB with the old Slot A Athlons.
