    Post Laptops use watercooling?

I have come to think that certain PIII based laptops use water cooling.
    1. Look at some of the mobile PIIIs, they have a metal block ontop with two small holes, one in one corner, the other in the opposite corner.
    2. On a Dell Lattitude Cpx PIII700 laptop that I used, I noticed that on the right back side there is an opening in which a large heatsink is. Air is passed over this heatsink with a fan in the back of the machine, and there is a brass like tube connection to the heatsink.
    3. Logic, how else to do cool a 700mhz+ processor in a computer and almost less than an inch thick?

Too bad, my dumb motherboard fried just about everything. Waiting for Tbird 900, FIC AD11 (AMD 761 DDR), 128 PC2100 DDR, GeForce2 MX! YEAH!

I doubt there is water inside your laptop. I'd guess that it's some other contraption, maybe to focus airflow onto the chip or something. Hell, call Dell. They should know.

furthermore, I doubt one could fit a water pump inside such a small form factor.

mobile processors are built to use less voltage, hence they put out less heat. Thus, it takes less to cool them.
I imagine they build more heat tolerance into them also, so they CAN run hotter then a desktop chip.

no, they're just as susceptible to heat as normal processors, but since they run on MUCH less voltage, they make much less heat. That makes cooling more efficient, and you don't need a huge fan system or anything.

    What that thing is?

Simply a heat transfear unit to move the heat to a larger area witch makes easyer to get the heat off.

Some even use the keyboard on your laptop for that task.

That Tube your talking about is used for cooling. It contains a theraml conductive gas. This has been used in high power audio amplifier's for years. NEC started using it in their laptop a few years ago.

Unfortunatlly, that's all me knowledge of the technology.
