AMD and ME
ok.....I just spent 7HRS installing Windows ME on a new system
here are the speces
AMD T-bird 1.1GHZ
Abit KT7A -Raid
ATI all in wonder 128
Diamond MX-300
128MB PC-133 RAM
Pioneer DVD 10X/slot
HP 9310 CDRW
3Com SOHO NIC 10/100
Quantum 30GB HD ata/100
after finally getting ME installed and updated I'm experiancing intermittent lock ups, for example it froze when the install for Half Life was starting and woudl get really slow and choppy when copying files.
anyone have any idea's about this? any tweake/updates they you guys had to perform to make your system run smooth?

u probably already thought of this, but all your drivers are updated--right? i have had ME since oct 2000 and reloaded it once a month.(over the original install)all my drivers and apps remained ok.i'm using the upgrade ME. i remember having fits with the original windows 95 upgrade. it's good for gaming.i want win2k for more stability.
my 2 cents

Format your drive and put either Win98SE or Win2K on it. It has been benchmarked that you will get a 10% performance loss in WinME over Win98SE.
Just food for thought.
