Besides, I really want to give my H2o setup a workout, and even o/c as high as my chip will go, it doesn't even start to push it. Last night my idle temps were 19C and load only managed to make it's way up 23C.

Doesn't that board have a rather low maximum on the Vcore? Somewhere around 1.8V or 1.9V..

Does the vid pin voltage trick work on your processor?

I max at 1.85V on the Vcore with this board. I have looked at utils that allow me to edit the .bin files for the BIOS to see if there is anything I can do, but I'm not really up to modding the board itself. If I fry it, I'm done. Just don't have the money to replace anything right now.

Just a question, what do you get on 3Dmark 2001? I just want to see what your radeon can do against mine. My max (i know it is low) is 3625 with cpu at 1639 and Radeon at 190/190 (i could go higher on vid, i just don't know what to do when it starts having problems, do you clear your vid card cmos or something )

I've never run 3DMark, nor do I plan on it. I use my real games to measure the performance of my system. When I start talking about 3DMark, you should hear the explatives fly.

One other question, what is the longest that someone has had an oced CPU run for before they stopped using it?

Yes, I do have Q3A. At 1024x768x32 with all the goodies on, I average 93fps on Demo1.

Thanks. I get around 87fps myself so it appears that the vid card oc makes a pretty big difference.

It might shorten the life of the processor but processors last for a long time anyways. I still have an old 286 still working

I personally never had a CPU die on me from overclocking, but my adequetely cooled GeForce2 MX (was warm to the touch) died from being overclocked for about 6 months.

    Cool

Very well then. My CPU goes 675 MHZ doesn't matter what. I freaked at SIS Sandra telling me to reduce FSB. I mean, that's the idea right? but as you have realistically said, i don't think to last with this p3 for another year. NEXT ONE: AMD XP (IPC=10) and overclocking itimmediately. You have created a moster. Thank you!
