P3 1 Ghz CPU
Just got a job card to build up a 1 GHz based system.
What's weird about this one is Intel has included the heat spreader on a Coppermine CPU.
How long has Intel been doing this?

Im not sure about the Copermine but Ive seen many P3 1ghz with heatspreaders. The one Tom tested had one as well but I dont know if that was a copermine.
Now.... When will AMD start doing it ??

The Tualatin on the right has a heatspreader. Underneath that piece of metal it looks like the Coppermine on the left.

Asynchronous memory clock, eh?
That would be 1327.5 MHz. Very very impressive for a P3 1 GHz...a year or so back, those puppies barely made it past 1.1 GHz. Kudos to Intel for the newer steppings.

Yeah......in fact he goes to this forum......name is Jerry Ryan.......we realized that something was up with his PIII 1Ghz and it would refuse to go above 1040 when before it ran 1.13 on his CUSL2-C.....so he returned it and got the Tualatin-ish looking 1Ghz.......

Standard heatsink with a delta jerry-rigged on it. Motherboard is the same as me (VH6T) and at a voltage of about 1.88 volts.....

The highest that I got it to go was 1.33GHz, with the stock heatsink on it a some ASE2. I down clocked the ram but was able to run the memory Turbo on my ABIt VH6T which is the fastest memory setting. Besides the cas latency which was set to cas 3

I've noticed them coming into the warehouse for about a month, maybe a little while longer, now. They switched back to the old fans too.
