    Shades:
The A7V is a great board, however, it can be a bear to get to a stable set-up with SoundBlaster cards and GeForce-based video systems. Print out this article for a building guide once you get your system: http://www.amdzone.com/articleview.cfm?ArticleID=433
It is very important that your sound card and video card have their own IRQ. Also, get your system stable with default settings first before you try any tweaks or overclocking.
    Merry Christmas!

    Cool

Juggernaut has good A7V site also, keep in mind that all of these tweakers boards will require more config/setup troubleshooting, by their very nature because they are so twakable/clockable (r those real words?)

Also best to format/part on ide onboard ata66 channel, then download latest promise ata100 driver, build 25 or 33. That, and disable boot viruscan when loading o.s., also choose hs/fan per review search... alotta peeps diss ThermalTake, but the Crome Orb is 2nd or 3rd in most reviews, half the noise and money than fop38 or heavyhedgehog.

Win2k likes the ASUS for the most part, 98se ok, I'm testing ME tweaked, been ok, but took some work to get system resources freed, because by default pchealth/system restore always working. CAn be tweaked for satisfacvtory results.

Pair it with a thunderbird and AT LEAST 300w psu, you'll be pleased.
