Are the current socket a (266fsb) Mobos compatible with the nrew pc2400 memory modules?
I saw some info at this site: http://www.corsairmicro.com/main/PR_xms2400.html

Well the thing you have to look for is what type of memory your MB is compatible with,
For example, an old Motherbard with SDR that normaly ran PC100 can run PC133 or PC150, the question is can everything up to that speed? the PC133 and PC150 are just ratings...they WILL go that high and they can go lower, you can run PC150 at 100mhz.
Now on to DDR:
All DDR mb's right now support PC**** with a minumum of 100mhz, so to get the mhz rating on PC**** chips you take the ****/8bits then divide by 2ddr...so PC1600 is rated to operate at 100mhz, PC2100 133mhz, PC2400 150mhz.
So The answer depends on your motherboard...Do you currently run PC1600-PC2100 or do you run PC100-PC150? If you run PC100-150 then no you can't use it, but if you use PC1600-2100 yes you can.

If I have a stick of pc2100 RAM and I put in a stick of pc2400 RAM to accompany it will it be able to run at 150? or would I be better off just buying the 2100.

Well if it's a crucial stick it can go to 150 and more...but you'd probably have to goto cas 2.5...your better off just getting an identical 256 stick of what you have. Also, is 512 really neccessary? It may be in the futute but by then sticks of 512 might be as cheap as that PC2400
