I don't know how to run the time demo for a set time, as in Quake 3, but you can monitor the frames by activating the Timedemo feature under one of the pull down menus from within UT.

    Cool

You will find it as a selectable option in one of the dropdown menus of UT.

Can't remember which one, but it is obvious when you see it.

It is under the Tools menu. Run that for about 10 mins. or so and than go back to tools to un-check it and return to your game or the console and it would display your average fps.

On the other hand, Deus ex has so many problems that I didn't even complete the tutorial. It's frustrating not being able to play one of the best games ever!

I've already downloaded the UT zip file with the new renderer. Where do I extract it to? To what folder?

Or you can do the same thing and start a practice session, finish it and at the top of the next map it displays your statistics such as, max fps, min fps, total fps(i think) and avg. fps.

Make sure you've downloaded the D3D patch (which is now included in the multiplayer patch) for Deus Ex.

Both Deus Ex and Unreal Tournament look great on my Radeon.

It runs incredible on my GTS. A solid 85 fps which I think is cuz I run VSYNC on at 85 refresh at 1024x768x32 all max settings and 4 bots.

I used to use a asus GTS deluxe and it was pretty good for UT but the GTS/PRO is no match for the voodoo 3/4/5 in glide games just how it is. I am PRO Nvidia if u wanna know.

    Hey SharkyForum Readers,

I'm led to believe that the general slower performance is due to the fact that the DirectX implementation of UT, while good, is not as good as the implementation/bias towards GLide. UT plays well on all platforms, however it plays better on a few, namely GLide and MetaL. Either way, UT rocks, and should have decent frame rate on your GeForce make sure you have the latest Official Detonator Drivers installed. If you have a VIA-based motherboard, make sure to install the latest official 4-In-1 Drivers as well.

Hello. Unzip it into any folder. Then go into your Unreal Tournament folder and make copies of Opengl.dll and direct3D.dll and also Unreal Tournament text file (has a little cog on the icon) Then copy the opengl.dll file and the direct3d.dll into UT folder. Then add the lines to the unreal tournament text file(Under OpenGl) read directions that came with the "renderer" file.

It works dude, maybe it's a driver conflict or the like. That's probably one of the best upgrades I have stuck in my box.

I disagree, especially at high resolutions, and obviously 32-bit colour (the fact that Glide doesn't do 32-bit colour, but that's beside the point).

I find Direct3D in UT to run better than Glide at higher resolutions, even with the same Voodoo5. And with 32-bit colour, I definitely think it looks better, but that's debatable.

However, I find UT engine games to be very CPU intensive anyways. I had a K6-2/500 which chugged in Deus Ex. I upgraded to a Duron 650, and suddenly could play it (this was back with my Rage Fury). Then I got my Radeon 64MB VIVO and I could play at 800x600x32 with all features on. After I got my 1 GHz Thunderbird, I can now play Deus Ex at 1600x1200x32 with all features on with slowdown only in the biggest of fights.
