Hercules and Kyro2!!!
Hercules have announced today that they will be supporting STB's Kyro2 chip! Now to me this shows that the chip may well be far more powerfiul than previously thought. Could this be a backlash against the high retail prices being charged for Nvidia cards? Maybe Hercules have reallised that the vast majority just aren't prepared to pay $500 for a gfx card. STB are well known for their stance on this subject, and wishing to release good quality and performance at low prices.
Or maybe Hercules know something that we don't and perhaps this will be the monster 4pipeline, 166mhz, dx8 compliant, shag Nvidia up the back passage card that we all hoped for?
Any comments? or anyone in the know?

If they get the die shrunk from .25 to .18 micron, get the clock speed up, and add a T&L unit, that card could be a contender to both ATi and Nvidia.

Hercules have issued some tech specs for Kyro2.
clock=175mhz
die=0.18
no t&l
but it looks like they may have added FSAA4free!!!! It's not too clear, but that is what it implies! and if that is right we can look forward to hi-res FSAA on everything for no performance hit!!!
