Dual Monitor DVD
Hi,
I just bought a Voodoo3 2000 pci to add to my system to run dual monitors (it cost $32 at pricewatch-->consumerdepot.com!). I have the Voodoo running as my secondary video and found that my DVD players will not work on that card/monitor. If I use the ATI DVD player I cannot even drag the window onto the second screen. With PowerDVD 2.55 I can drag it over but the window stays black. Placing the PowerDVD window half on the ATI screen and half on the Voodoo screen gives me images only on the ATI side. What can I do to get video on both monitors?
Thanks

Hmm...PowereDVD seems to be using software paying only. The program has even greyed out the option for hardware acceleration. I think that I will try the player that came with my dell laptop and see how that works...keep you posted.

I have asked around about this before, here, with ATI, and at Realtimesoft.com. It seems like DVD's and other video features (like TV tuner stuff) will ONLY display on the primary video card. I have heard of being able to move around a TV window, but only with Hauppage cards, and specific configuration. Also, some dualhead cards like the Matrox cards and the ATI Radeon VE will support dragging around a DVD window.
But if I remember correctly, that doesn't work with the Radeon VE in Windows 2000.
Check out Realtimesoft, they have some forums devoted to multimonitor issues.
Update: I just read that the current beta drivers for the Radeon VE allow you to watch DVD on either monitor in Win2K.

The Matrox G400 & 450 can supposedly handle dvd on either monitor.
