    Post Radeon and Athlon

I just sent back my GeForce2 MX 400 because it was not working with my Athlon and AMD 760 DDR motherboard. There seemed to be no way to fix the lockups in any 3d game. I got a Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO Retail. Has ANYONE had any problems, becasue my parents will be pretty mad if it does not work.

BTW- what driver should I run it with?

Your gf2 mx should have worked. Did you install all the 4-1 drivers?

I had MASSIVE problems with a Radeon and the old KX133 chipset...but eventually they fixed that, and every chipset after that has been fine...

    Athlon TB @840 (140*6) on
    KT7A
    Radeon 32DDR, drivers: 7075,
    ...

but: i don't see any reason why your MX didn't work, good luck for this one.

PS: 4in1 drivers are only necessary if you have a 686B southbridge (no heatsink on it, take a look).

I have no idea why the GeForce did not work. They said it was some kind of problem with a very few number of Athlon systems. The ATi website has the same problem that I am having with my GeForce in its Radeon help section; they also say the same thing. I think maybe I should try a new motherboard next

Everyone is talking about the 4in1 via drivers, but he DON'T have a via chipset!

So no 4 in 1 or it will be worst than that.

Anyway, you should not have any problems with the Radeon; it's rock solid.

Actually you are both wrong! The AMD 760 chipset uses the AMD 760 northbridge and a Via 686B Southbridge. I am running the latest AMD drivers, and the latest Via 4-in-1 drivers.
