Easy cd creator won't recognise blank cdr

I upgraded to easy cd 4 (which worked fine) to 5. The software will recognise the cd-rw drive but not any blank media so i uninstalled 5 and reinstalled 4 but the problems remains.
Any ideas?

This sounds to me like a hardware pdoblem. How old is your CD-ROM?

this happened to me in a different scenario.. My CD-r refuses to write at 6X (its max.) it writes now at a max 4X or even less.. all that coz i tried to upgrade the software then, i removed and put the old one back.. i tried to install windows again and the program again in new places.. but nothing happened!!
