Post Upgrade ATI after you utilised Nvidia card = a pain in the A$$

I think that Nvidia drivers will let you registry keys inside Microsoft Registry who impede the proper use of a ATI card .
The same think like 3DFX did , ...if you remember it was very hard to hawe a NVidia card working fine if you had a Voodoo before .
I know a lot of people who bought Radeon 8500 and was unable to hawe a good functionality of the card without a fresh 0s reinstall if they had before a NV card .
Same thing happen if you use Norton Antivirus and Mcaffe in the same time ,...you will hawe registry keys erased .
I work with Norton utilities and if i try to use Fix-it 3.0 utilities together with Norton when i try to get rid of old registry keys (with Reg. cleaner) each one will erase the registry keys of another and you will end with a death program .
Allmost everybody i know who installed Radeon 8500 after a NV card hawe big problems with the card so i guess that this info i had is true .
P.S Please dont' consider this a flame ;...give only opinions if you hawe .
    Thanx

I agree...it does seem like after someone has a nvidia card...and installed a differnt card (not just an ati card...power vr...matrox..etc..) they'll have problems because just when you add/remove hardware in windows it's just not enough...

I don't think you can blame the video card for that (at least not just the card).
No version of windows is capable of handling its registry properly.
Alot of software leaves remnants in the registry after you uninstall it.
You might try having norton fix the registry or do manual searches for nvidia or geforce...and who in their right mind would pick nvidia over 3dfx anyway (or ati over nvidia)...your video card choices are getting worse and worse man

I did not changed my GF3 with a Radeon but i hawe a lot of friends who did that include my brother and everybody had problems installing the 8500 after a GF card but the fresh reinstall solved the problem .
About your opinion concerning people who changed a GF card for a X card """)...your video card choices are getting worse and worse man """ ...i think that nobody give a s*it about what you say because you are nobody and so your personal opinion is a value only for you .
But if this make you feel better well ,...go on
