    Thumbs up

Yeah, chek out CNET.com. They've got all kinda fee/shareware. Ive got a prog called something like EZ CD DA extrator. It works OK, but is slow. You can also chek out www.bidcagesoft.com and get the MPAction Rip Encoder. I think it also handles decoding, and is very simple to use.

You can use winamp to convert mp3 to wave

simply go under options -> preferences and on output you should be able to change to Nullsoft Disk Writer.

*shrug* i'm lazy so i decided that its just alot easier to use winamp then setup a second program to output wav files rather than just use existing stuff on my comp.

My favorite conversion program, going either direction or to and from other formats, is goldwave ( http://www.goldwave.com ). It's by far the most useful shareware program I've ever used.

Hmm ... this app supports the ogg format! I didn't thought that had been as spread as it shows up in shareware! That was a pleasant surprise

Thank you so much for this little piece of informtion. My friend told me you could convert from MP3 to .wav using Winamp, but the bugger never told me HOW. It never occured to me that "Nullsoft Diskwriter Pluging" meant ".wav" How foolish of me (he says with much sarcasm). How the hell are we supposed to know that? Nullsoft should smarten up a little bit and make a great program better by making the menus a little bit more straightforward. Thanks again.

Well, it is the number one (maybe two, but I think 1) question in the FAQ at www.winamp.com

Good program but hasn't winamp bloated tons recently? It used to be like 400K but now there tons of useless junk! Who on earth needs all this? I reckon they should optimise it and cut the size. I use windows media, but aren't all the secure music standards a waste of time. I think we all know the general attitude as regards music on the net (i.e. secure is good but free is better).
