The Klipsch Pro-Medias are aweful, IMO! Boomy bass, shrill high-range that causes listening fatigue, and absolutely no mid-range.
I don't know what the FPS2000 cost these days, but I imagine they would be the best 4.1 system around $150. If you can find the BA4800s for that price, they would be a steal. The BA790s are awesome for around $100. I have the feeling Altec Lansing has the most systems in the $100-$150 range, so I would look at as many systems from them as possible.
My BA4800s are great when it comes to gaming for games like Half-Life: Counter-Strike. They are best for classical and music with detail. The Pro-Medias with the the massive subwoofer are best for rap and dark (not trancy) techno that requires more bass than anything. The BA4800s offer great, but very tight (not boomy) bass.
