5.1 Surround sound - when will better support arive?
I have what I deem a pretty good, if somewhat expensive system (specs below). Iam just wondering when better support for the center channel in most games will arrive...and also if there are updates for current games to take advantage of this seemingly useless center speaker. I know it works well with DVDs but I play games more than DVDs...can anybody throw some light on this question?

At the moment, no games will take advantage of your center channel. I don't know why, because with the live 5.1 there are a few that do. Directsound 3d takes advantage of the center channel, according to the demo in the sdk. Unreal tournament with hardware accelleration enabled, system shock 2, (and the thief series I would imagine), and america mc gee's alice all take advantage of the center channel of a sb live. Hercules is waiting for an api with true 5.1 channel support before they support it. Hopefully this isn't too far in the future
