    Post My cable modem is as bad as 56k!

    Well, not exactly as bad. I get download rates of about 75-100Kb/s which is OK, but my ping is just as bad as 56k. It is around 140-230 which makes games just as bad as 56k. I am almost positive this is a problem with my computer. Is there any kind of tweaking program for broadband, or a site with registry tweaks?

    well it could be the server your in... in my dorm i have a dedicated T3 line... and in servers around the area (and all local servers)... my ping is usually 10-30.... when i play on a server is a different state, sometimes my ping is in the 100-200 area.... so u might want to try different servers.

    Thanks a lot guys, although I did not have to do anything. All of a sudden today it just started going really fast. I am getting around 1.1Mb/s downstream and ping times aroung 60.
