Post What would happen if I uncapped my line?

I have Comcast@home and I just got a program to uncap my upstream. What would happen if I used this program? I know that is a pretty good violation of the license agreement, but would they notice? Like you are not susposed to run servers and stuff, but they cannot moniter that (and just about everybody does
But will they notice if I try to mess with the line?

Unfortunately you are unable to uncap your cable modem only the Cable co. can, and yes it is a pretty big violation to mess with any of there companies equipment. Its actually a criminal act so suggest against it.

Yeah, I actually just read some more about it and it cannot be done. The way the DOCSIS system works it does not allow the modem to send/recieve data until it runs through a series of checks, and tells the modem how much bandwidth it can use.

First of all it wouldn't work and second of all if you did, you could go to jail for cable stealing.
