update drivers 4 sb live, sb live value the same?
Hi to all,
I went to Creative.com, they have update drivers for soundblaster live for Win2000, but not for soundblaster live value. I wonder if they'd be the same drivers?
thanks in advance for any help,
ps

Don't count on it. I have 3 different versions of a driver for the Creative Ensoniq card. There's no way to tell which one will work except to try them all. I also have two Live Value's and they each have different drivers that are not interchangeable. Creative has the worst driver team ever! They need to get their act together and follow nVidia's lead by delivering a nice unified driver. So my prognosis based on experience is that it won't work.

The drivers are all the same for all cards of the Live family, so it'll certainly work.

I have a live platinum and two live values. Two machines are running win2k (one plat and one value) and I used the same creative win2k driver (from the website) for both and they work great. I also used the creative win98 driver for the second live value and ran into some trouble there... after installing the older drivers from the disk that i got the first live from (the second was just a bare card) then it worked, but i could not get it to work correctly in win98 with the creative drivers on the webpage.
Oh If all companys did like Nvidia and had Unified drivers, then my life would be so much nicer...we can only hope that companys wisen up and realize that they actually SaVe money by doing this.

ALL LIVE CARDS ARE THE SAME. OR SO DAMN NEAR THE SAME THAT IT DOESNT MATTER.
Yes the drivers work for all cards. Don't worry about right clicking and choosing the driver or anything in device manager. Even if it has no driver install, and is just detected, run liveware3 setup and it will update and install all the drivers automatically.

I don't like risk. That's why I have chose to be a 'never was' instead of risk being a 'has been'.
