My CD-RW Drive

I have Sony's 10x/4x/32x CD-RW Drive
It used to work. And after a period of not using it I tried burning a CD recently and it came up with an error:-8 at sector 16. I am using Sony's CD Extreme software and this errors comes up even if I select test(no recording). I tried reinstalling the software but it still errors. I installed some other CD Burning tools ei CDClone, and Nero both of which are currently off my system.

Try burning a different CD. You may just be trying to burn a copy protected CD. I know my burner won't let me (I have a Sony) even with CDClone and Nero, which burn raw data (I can't get mine to work for some reason).
