scroll control in Word?

Is there a way of controling scroll speed when highlighting text over several pages?

I thought it just scrolled faster or slower depending on how far you moved your hand up the text.... so next time you try to highlight, just move your hand (your mouse) up or down (whichever the case may be) just a little at a time... or, I am very into using the keyboard.... just put your cursor where you want to begin highlighting, hold ctrl+shift and hit up arrow key, and you will highlight one line of text at a time... after practicing this a few times, you will never touch your mouse again!!!
