    Post AOL 7.0

Anyone use this and have anything to say about it?

My parents use aol and asked me if they should get the newest version. I don't really know what to tell them since that last version I used (and they still use) is 5.0

I am on cable at the moment, but yes I have to use dialup at home

    Unhappy

I'm trying to get it right now. I selected the U.S. version(live in Canada, but like the U.S. format) of AOL 4.0, because it was on a disk that I keep for restoring after format(6.0 was eliminated because of bad disk). After I upgraded to AOL 6.0, now it's forcing me to upgrade to AOL Canda 6.0 before I can get to 7.0. So I'm going to look to get a way around it. I don't care which national version, I get in the end.

I did however manage to figure out how to keep new versions of IE without re-downloading on 56k. I copy the whole folder onto a CD, and after a format I paste the folder, and when I upgrade my AOL/IE versions, it simply fixes the old folder and reg with a much shorter download time.

    Yeah, yeah I know...

It's hard to part, you are correct. AOL is the pop music of ISP's no doubt. If it wrecks my machine I'll change it. Until then, it's Britney and Christina pics to the bitter end. Sure chuck, fire a copy to me if you wan't, and thanks in advance if you do. More people should be like chuck. Heh.

My brother-in-law installed it on his system. Took me 2 hours to undo the damage.

It severly slowed down his PC.

Well(chuck), the zip files were unreadable in Win98, so I'm going to have to wait(rather than spend all that time downloading again...). This message I recieved about my AOL 7.0 Canada.

"Aol 7.0 was released in Canada Nov 1 2001 from a pop-up which our members would recieve when they signed. Because you have a American version of Aol you would not see this pop-up. The Aol 7.0 will be released on CD first or second week in December and should be available at most local Royal Banks."

I'm such a crazy fish. Feel the drama.

Questions: your cable and you got aol, are you paying for you cable modem and piggybacking off of aol, cause i'm with time warner, and i just use internet explorer, i had aol before and they gave me the option of paying them $20 bucks a months to piggyback, meaning i could use their browser, i believe if your 80 years old and have never been on the internet before aol has a use, but if you are experienced in the internet, why would you ever want to use aol? specaially if your paying 20 bucks a month just for the browser???

p.s have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light? -joker
