Timed Ads keep comming up!
Ahhh! About every hour I get flooded with hundreds of pop up ads. They keep comming back every hour and I have no idea how to rid of them, tried flushing the cache, removing cookies. I saw a thread, I think it might have been on SharkyForums but I am not sure, I just kind of read it an laughed at the sucker with the problem. I remember it was some file or something that was causing these things to come up, and there was a solution.
Does any one know of this thread, or a solution.
They are comming back in 4 minutes

You can download ad-aware (try www.download.com). It sniffs out and then allows you to delete spy ware, which is what has infected your computer.

Couldn't it just be a script that automatically loads the same Ad pages every few hours or so?
I thought Ad-Aware picks out stuff that sends info to other sites (spyware)

When this happens do you have anything like iMesh or KaZaA running? If so, it may be some really creepy ads support that has gone horribly awry. Good luck! Also, check to see if you have any installed programs that seem very odd and you really don't recognize.

I believe the best trick I've picked up recently is: go into explorer>tools>internet options>security>disable active scripting. You need to re-enable it to use a few pages with services that use it like Microsoft update, but that is about it. It takes care of my popups better than any third party program ever did.

My thinking is that if this reoccurs, it must be running in the background. I'd check your startup, msconfig and ctrl+alt+del. If you have a constant connection, I'd download and install a firewall (if you don't have one). Correctly configured, it will block the ads and may prevent them from sending out info from you computer.

you had .dll files in your c:\windows\system directory.
which load with your browser.
i did it on me, and found like 80 of em
there is one famouse one called Savenow
in your program files
it is downloaded automatically without you knowing.
Just do that and your safe.
