Amusing story...
Perhaps this should go in "Off-topic," but I felt this was more appropriately posted here.
Next to my computer I have a pretty fat library of HTML/PHP4/JavaScript/C books, and I happen to have my HTML reference book out on the table next to me one night. My roomate's friend came in and sees the HTML book which has in big orange letters on it, "HTML."
He asks me, "What's that book about?" This kid basically speaks ebonics, and mumbles his words so much I can't hardly ever understand him. To me it sounded like he said, "Whahdat bookubow?" (Nice kid, just can't talk for beans). So naturally I reply, "huh?..."
He restates his question a little slower this time, 'cause he's pretty used to people not having any idea what he's saying, rofl. This time he says, "What's that book about, Hotmail?" At this point I'm totally baffled..."Hotmail?" A book on Hotmail?....what the hell is he talking about?
Then a realized he's looking at "HTML" and the only thing that comes to mind is Hotmail! Rofl, it was a strain to look at the title "HTML" and not see it for what it is.
I just thought that was a pretty funny story of computer illiteracy.
