I'd personally suggest you learn html by hand first before you move into dreamweaver. It'll slow you down on the amount of crap you make. No offense, but that's what it'll probably be and I was no exception when I first started html. Oh, the horrors I made.... It was awful... Just awful. I'll have to embarass myself sometime and show you all where it's still located. The single BIGGEST BIGGEST BIGGEST thing you can do that will help you out no matter how crappy or good you are is to think through where you want everything placed. Draw on a sheet of paper how the site will look, where the navigation will be and how it will flow. You'll receive at least some respect from ppl if you the site's layout is logical even with tons of blinking text and a hot pink background with purple text.
