I've been working with Cold Fusion for almost a year now, and there's thing I like about it, and things I don't like. The latest version, Cold Fusion 5 was a definite improvement...it offers *alot* of functionality, and it's pretty easy to code.

If I were to buy a book, I'd probably buy this one:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...839376-2853400

WROX books are just plain good...I've never been disappointed. Also, www.allaire.com actually has some great developer resources.

And of course, if you ever get stuck with Cold Fusion, stop by here and ask away. I, or some other Cold Fusion junkies would be glad to help ya

I really like the new O'Reilly Cold Fusion book. Also, Cold Fusion should be real easy to hop into, but you really need to know SQL commands and HTML first. I basically sit here 8 hours a day and type CF tags, so I can help too if need be.

Thanks guys for the response. Im still a college student and have learned HTML, VB,SQL. even did some asp, and XML stuff. Basicly why i was asking about the Cold fusion is because the place i work for has 2 sites, an HTML site and a cold fusion. I basicly make all the changes to the Basic HTML site, and the cold fusion is in the process of getting the database populated. So eventaully ill be in charge of the making the small cold fusion changes. Also it seems to be in pretty high demand here in south florida. Anyone know what a cold fusion programer makes?

More and more business are turning to Cold Fusion everyday. It's a pretty solid app, and is great for team development.

A lot of Cold Fusion Developer jobs offer as high as $80K per year, some places even higher.

A great CF resource is: http://www.cfadvisor.com/

That site is *loaded* with info.

http://www.cfm-resources.com/ offers free Cold Fusion hosting.

And yeah, that "Mastering Cold Fusion 4.5" book you have is a good one. We have it at work, and I've referenced it in the past. Great stuff.
