    Post HTML - embedding image...how?

Like the subject says, I'm working on an HTML document, but I need to embed an image into the document. I'm just flat HTML coding w/o any software...text pad. Is there any way to do this? Please let me know, its for my work, and I need it done ASAP. Thanks in advance...

Sorry...I didn't fully explain what I was wanting. I need the image to be fully contained within the html document, so that it doesn't have to look to the source to display it. Almost like a background image...wait a second, I think I may have come up with something. But I'm fairly certain there is a way to do it the other way...but I can't remember how. Any suggestions...

Ok...I'm going to attempt to make some sense this time around. I have an animated gif...I would like to use it in an HTML document. But in order for it to work correctly for my purpose, it needs to be fully contained within the HTML doc, so its not looking for a source file. So in a sense embedding or saving it within the document. I thought there was a way to do that...but I can't remember any more. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

The only way you could do that would be through a JavaApplet perhaps. There's no way to store the images binary data into the .html document.

    Yeah, only in an applet...

Can I ask what you need it for? Why can't you link to an external image file?

I was attempting to use it for an Outlook stationary for one of the administrators. But I've figured something else out now...just used the image as a signature.
