    Question Javascript Newbie...

Hello everyone. I'm working on a website for a project that I'm doing for school. What I'm trying to do is make expandable menus with my table, plus I'm trying to get the background color of the <td> to change as you roll over the link itself. I hardly know any js, and I found a website with a tutorial on how to make a menu that expands if you have submenus for certain topics, but I can't remember the URL for the site. All I remember about the site is it was named "javascript nut" or something of that sort. It was pretty nice, but since I've gotten a new computer, I kind of lost the bookmark. Oh well for that. Anyways. I'm not asking you to do any homework for me. I just need some help, or at least a good tutorial on how to do that stuff. Thanks in advance.

    I like hiermenus myself
    http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/hiermenus/

Its a jscript module that you include, then you alter a couple config files for the menu items. Make sure you read the stuff on the site about how to set it up so you don't blow any circuits trying to figure it out.

SWEETNESS!!! Sorry, just excited. Maybe I should have searched for hierarchial menus before, or maybe my vocabulary wasn't up to par these past couple of days. Oh well for my brain. Thanks Begby. I found a script earlier from DynamicDrive that sits on the left side and pops out when you mouse over it. Think it's called Static Slide Menu. Interesting little thing, but doesn't seem professional to have something like that, especially when I have to present my website to some big-wigs (possibly). Thanks again.

personally i can't speak highly enough of
    http://www.dhtmlcentral.com

go take a look there for really good menus and lot's more.

i use some of the bits from it on my site at
    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/smcicr

(you have to get through a couple of pages of nonsense first but the menu in the site itself is from there as is the news slider type thing)

    cheers.

smcicr, the site looks pretty good. Our website is still in the design/planning stage. I have a layout set out, but we're still deciding on the colors, etc. I just downloaded the latest version of heirmenus a few minutes ago. Haven't unzipped it yet, but looking forward to it soon. I'll have to check out dhtmlcentral.

Okay, stupid question about HierMenus. I'm kind of reading the instructions for how to include HierMenus in a frameset page. I was wondering if anyone has ever had luck with it and IFrames. I know it's basically the same as using it in plain old frames, but I was just curious. I have begun to use IFrames in my web pages that I'm making and I like them, so yeah, I don't really care about cross-browser compatability right now.
