My opinion on .NET has been re-enforced
I found this article linked from Bluesnews.com today.
It appears that a recent poll issued by ZDnet was rigged by Microsoft to try and fabricate .NET dominance over Java. Read the article, it made my laugh, and feel sick at the same time. Stunts like these re-enforce my lack of respect for .NET, and it's intentions with the Web.

Well just to debate you a bit, I definately think that the blame should be put on Microsoft not .NET the product. Maybe thats what you meant though.
Also, I don't think its in poor taste for microsoft to have sent around an email asking employees to vote for .NET. I think thats to be expected from online polls (which is why you should take ANY online poll with a grain of salt), and I'm sure more than just Microsoft is guilty of that. BUT, the scripts that they wrote and the multiple voting attempts by the same person... thats just crap. The the f is their problem???

Well you're right about that...I should be focusing my disgust more at Microsoft and not their .NET product in this particular case, and essentially I am.
But as far as the company e-mail goes...I still think that's pretty bogus. When you're company consists of tens of thousands, and you tell them all to vote on a web poll...it's pretty obvious they're going to screw over the results big time.

I find that article to be helarious. ZDNET should alert MSNBC.... oh wait, that wouldn't happen... ROFL!!!

I don't like the .NET deal, since Microsoft intends to leverage it in a way that is quite disturbing to control more than they already do... Plus, their software is of very poor quality for the web...
