RE: sircam virus
To all who may read this, I just got hit with the Sircam virus. It got through a virus scan on my system prior to my opening of said email, and this was on my backup machine, a standalone unit, but hooked to the internet.
A apologise for any problems I may have caused to anyone, it appears to have picked up lots of email addy’s I didn’t even have on my address book, maybe captured while surfing, then sent out the attachment to all including the ones on my email list.

[Insert witty title here]
Isnt the sircam "virus" actually just a worm?
I read an article somewhere about that, what is the difference between them?
I also heard there is a fix available that cures sircam in case you're infected.

Jeff Muise here
Did you know you had the virus before reading my mail? If you went to the link I gave you it says:
This is a HIGH RISK virus that is spread to email recipients found in the Windows Address Book and addresses found in cached files.
So by visiting forums you will pick up a lot of e-mail addresses in Temporary Internet Files.

Jeff.
No, I didn't know I had it until I fired her up this afternoon, then when I checked my mail I was inundated with all sorts of stuff, then I followed your link provided and removed virus from both machines (I think only one had it, but I got all the replys on my main machine, so I just started on that machine, then on to the other.
Yeah, I wondered about the emails to people I had never mailed to before, nor had in my address book.
