Post Random Reboots on new win2k install

For some reason, my computer keeps getting random reboots. It started a few days ago and it is still happening. I reinstalled win2k because I thought that could be the problem, but they are still happening. I suspected heat, but when i check the cpu temp in the bios, it is at ~107F. Do you guys have any idea what is the problem here? I periodicly got these in winxp as well. Just FYI, SP1 is installed. I have an Abit KT7 mobo, 640megs of ram (ram is fine), and a 1.1ghz amd t-bird. Please help me

this is exactly what i am going through too. if you have your mobo manual, go to section 1-2 and look under specifications for the cpu section. look at what your mobo is able to handle cpu/mhz wise. my mobo only accepts up to 1G with the current bios, so my new 1.2G tbird was acting stupid.

Nah, I flashed the bios a long time ago. It supports my cpu just fine. I was running win98 on this system earlier, but I had to take it off because it somehow managed to corrupt itself. I decided to install win2k instead. I know the box should technically be fine.

    Question

Not really sure but, I think there is a setting in W2K that tells your PC to reboot upon certain error messages. Cant recollect where it is (the setting) at the moment but maybe I will jog someone elses memory. I'm at work right now and dont have access to my W2K box. If no help by tonight I will post up more detail. -Van-
